Private team workflows are next

Meeting transcription, internal context, and organization-managed deployments will stay explicit and policy-aware.

Ablefor

Dictate, transcribe, edit, and deliver text privately.

3-day free trial, no card. Start with your email — your voice never leaves your Mac.

Local by architecture

Speech recognition, meeting transcription, and text tools can run on your Mac when the required packs are installed. Core personal workflows do not require public-cloud processing.

Safe insertion

Dictate into many apps with safe insert where available and copy fallback everywhere. Risky destinations force review or copy, so the product does not pretend it can safely type anywhere.

Languages included, honestly

Official language capability packs are included — shown by honest quality tier: Recommended, Review advised, Experimental, or Custom pack recommended. A model card listing a language never becomes a support claim until we review or benchmark it. No per-language fees.

Speaker Focus

An optional on-device voice profile keeps dictation focused on you and flags nearby speakers. Recognition only — never cloning, never authentication.

Yours to keep

Buy a version and keep using it on your activated Mac — no subscription. Core local workflows are not metered: no per-minute fees, no word caps, no per-language or model-size charges, no metering of your own machine. Maintenance and quality updates for your version line are included.

Controlled deployment

Organizations can run Ablefor on managed Macs or connect it to approved internal models and inference services. When more capacity is needed, stronger internal infrastructure can be used while processing stays under the organization's control.

How to use Ablefor

Know the main controls.

Ablefor lives in the menu bar. Most work starts from the menu or shortcut, then moves through a small review surface before the text goes into another app.

Download for macOS

Default start: press Control + Option + D for dictation. Use Control + Option + M for meeting transcription, or start either workflow from the menu bar.

  1. 01

    Menu bar and shortcut

Click Start in the menu bar or press Control + Option + D. Choose the language mode, performance profile, and where processing should run.

  2. 02

    Listening panel

While you speak, the floating panel shows status, language, profile, processing location, timer, stop, and close controls.

  3. 03

    Review & insert

After dictation, review the transcript before it goes anywhere. Insert it, copy it, or open it for deeper editing.

  4. 04

    Clean, Polish, Translate

Create improved or translated versions as separate result cards, while the original transcript stays available for checking.

  5. 05

    Continue or re-record

Add more speech to the same text when the thought is not finished, or re-record if the result is not good enough.

  6. 06

    Composer and settings

Use Composer for longer editing, comparison, translation, and read aloud. Use settings for languages, shortcuts, insertion rules, and packs.
